Kindergarten and Grade 1 students are required to attend the school within the catchment area in which they reside. To confirm your designated catchment, please view Catchment Maps, or contact the school nearest to your place of residence. Residents in rural areas should contact the HSD Transportation Department at 204-320-2347 to verify their school.
Fall 2017 Registration
Kindergarten: Children must be 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2017.
Grade 1: Children must be 6 years of age on or before December 31, 2017.
Children presently enrolled in HSD Kindergarten classes do not need to be re-registered.
When registering at a HSD school please make sure to bring along the following information:
- Proof of Parent’s Residency
(One of: Birth Certificate, Canadian Passport, Citizenship Card, Record of Landing, Permanent Resident Card, Work Permit, or Study Permit)
- Proof of Student’s Legal Guardianship
(One of: Birth Certificate, Passport, Landed Immigrant Papers, or Medical Card)
- Proof of Student’s Age (Birth Certificate or Passport)
- Proof of Address
- Documentation of any Health Concerns (if applicable)
- Record of School Achievement (if applicable)
Kindergarten Survey (Feb. 6-13)
(Blumenort, Bothwell, Kleefeld, Landmark, Mitchell and Steinbach Catchments)
Hanover School Division is seeking input from parents/guardians regarding class scheduling for kindergarten students. Consideration is being given to changing the existing ‘half day – every day’ class schedule to a ‘full day – alternate day’ class schedule for the 2017/18 school year. This change, if implemented, would require kindergarten students to attend class for the full school day, on alternate days (example: school days 1, 3, 5, or 2, 4, 6). Learn More…
