Power Outage at MES and MMS

Power Outage Update

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Due to a community power outage, Mitchell Elementary School and Mitchell Middle School were without power for a brief period this morning before school started. MES was the first to have power restored and MMS after a short mechanical delay related to heating/plumbing.

There were plans to transport MMS students to MES if the mechanical issue at MMS could not be resolved promptly. The Fire Department was on the scene to assist if needed. Within a short period of time, the school’s heating/plumbing was fully operational and the Fire Department gave clearance for students to enter the building.

We do not anticipate any further disruption, and classes will continue as scheduled at both schools.
