Superintendent’s Office

March 26, 2021

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we approach the week of Spring Break, I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our students and staff in the Hanover School Division for their continued hard work these past few months. The upcoming break is certainly well deserved. I truly hope students and staff take the time to enjoy some rest and rejuvenation.

I also want to say thank you to our parents and caregivers for all the support you have provided to HSD schools. Your partnership during these continued challenging times has been exceptional and very much appreciated.

Public Health orders remain in place and include self-isolation guidelines for travel outside Manitoba. We encourage families to keep this in mind as they make their Spring Break plans. For more guidance on group gatherings and travel, please visit the provincial COVID-19 website.

As noted in our previous correspondence, Public Health has provided updated guidance on close contacts and self-isolation requirements, and COVID-19 variants of concern. To assist parents and caregivers in understanding the new protocols, we have created a one-page chart When Can Students Attend School?

On Monday, March 15, 2021, the provincial government released the long-awaited K-12 Education Review. Given the scope of the report and proposed changes, it will take time to review and understand the implications for Hanover School Division. We look forward to participating in the provincial consultation process and learning more details in the months ahead. HSD will continue to work and communicate with our stakeholders while focusing on creating student success in each of our schools.

For more information regarding the Gr. K-12 Education Review and the government’s plans moving forward, please visit the following links:

We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, April 5, 2021. Stay safe and healthy.

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
