Student Registration for 2020-21 (New Students)

Hanover School Division maintains strict catchment areas in order to ensure a balanced enrollment across the division and the viability of all schools. To determine your designated catchment area, please view catchment maps online or inquire at the school nearest to your place of residence. Residents in rural areas are asked to contact the HSD Transportation Department at 204.320.2347 to verify their catchment area school.

My Child Is Currently Enrolled in Hanover School Division

You have indicated that your child is a current student in one of our schools.

Please do not complete the online registration form on this website. This form is only for those students new to Hanover School Division. If you child is a current student, please direct all registration questions to your child’s school.

My Child Was Previously Enrolled in Hanover School Division

You have indicated that your child is not currently a student in Hanover School Division, but has in the past, been a student in one of our schools.

As a previous student within our division (not enrolled in HSD during the 2019-20 school year), your child’s registration process cannot be completed online and requires a transfer of their student record. Regardless of your child’s current age or grade, you must contact the HSD school your child last attended to update/transfer their student record to the school that they will now attend. The transferring HSD school will provide you with further instructions on how to complete the registration process.

My Child Has Never Been Enrolled in Hanover School Division


You have indicated that your child has never been a student in Hanover School Division.

If this is correct, proceed with the first steps of online registration. If you are unsure of your designated catchment school, select “unsure” on the registration form. HSD will confirm your child’s designated school based upon address provided.  View HSD Catchment Area Maps.


STEP 1


SUBMIT ONLINE REGISTRATION
Required input includes your child’s birth certificate number, MB health card number, address of residence, and parent/guardian contact information. Email notification will be sent to the email address that you provide on the form.

IMPORTANT! Parent/Guardian will receive an initial email indicating receipt of the registration form. After the form is processed by school officials, parent/guardian will receive a second email confirming status of registration - with instructions on how/when to complete Step #2.

Do not proceed to Step #2 until directed to do so (email notification).


STEP 2


PROVIDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION

When instructed to do so, parent/guardian will be required to provide supportive documentation to the school. Registration is not considered complete, until supporting documentation has been verified.

(One form of documentation is required for each of A, B, C, and D categories.)

A. Medical/Health Insurance Coverage
One of the following must be provided:
  • MB Medical Card listing the child and parent(s) name, or copy of application
  • Other medical card listing child and parent(s) name from another province
  • Proof of private insurance on a monthly basis

    B. Residency
    One of the following (with current address) must be provided:
  • Utility Bill
  • Mortgage Documents
  • Building Permit
  • Property Tax Bill (for primary residence ONLY, and not rental property)
  • Rental/Lease Agreement
  • Accepted “Offer to Purchase” with possession date Indicated
  • Manitoba Health Card

    C. Student Age Verification
    One of the following must be provided:
  • Birth Certificate (preferred)
  • Canadian Passport
  • Treaty Card
  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Statutory Declaration to a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public

    D. Citizenship (Parent)
    One of the following must be provided:
  • Birth Certificate (preferred)
  • Canadian Passport
  • Treaty Card
  • Baptismal Certificate
  • Statutory Declaration to a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public
    If not citizens, then one of the following documents must be provided - Landed Immigrant (Permanent Residence) Documents, Work Visa, Study Visa/Permit, or Refugee Status Documentation.
