Niverville Collegiate Institute – Threat Investigation

Steinbach, MB. February 21, 2018 – Early this morning we became aware of a threat made toward Niverville Collegiate Institute (NCI) by a student. The threat took place online through a social media post.

We take all threats of this nature very seriously, and therefore local RCMP were contacted immediately.

RCMP have responded to the situation, and are actively investigating. We have been assured that the school is safe, and that lockdown of NCI is not necessary.

The incident will be reviewed, and we will work with all involved to ensure our schools continue to be a safe and respectful environment for students and staff.
