Steinbach, MB. Mar. 2, 2021 – Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Geri Harder-Robson, has formally announced her pending retirement from the Hanover School Division effective July 31, 2021.

Geri has been an HSD employee for 36 years. She joined the Hanover School Division in 1985 as a math and science teacher at Green Valley School (GVS). Upon completing her post-baccalaureate diploma in special education and counselling, she served as a resource teacher and school counsellor. Geri was appointed Vice-Principal of GVS in 1995 and transferred to HSD Student Services in 1998, serving as a clinician. In 2009, Geri accepted the position of Vice-Principal of Student Services, and in 2012 she was promoted to the position of Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.

Over the past 12 years, Geri has provided valuable leadership to the HSD Student Services Department. She has managed clinician services to students in schools and advocated for inclusion and appropriate educational programming for those students with different abilities and greater barriers to successful outcomes. Throughout her career, Geri has been a strong advocate for equity of opportunity and access to all aspects of student learning. Geri’s contributions to public education in southern Manitoba are significant, and her work has enriched the lives of our students and their families.

The Board of Trustees thanks Geri for her dedicated service and wishes her all the best in her pending retirement.
