The annual HSD Summer Learning Institute was held August 21-23. Designed for new and early career teachers, the primary focus of this event is on preparing new and early career teachers for a strong start to the school year and equipping them with tools to thrive in their new careers. Over 35 teachers participated in this year’s event, representing various grade levels and schools from across the division. Highlights included sessions on the HSD Deeper Learning Plan and how to create a culture of learning in preparation for the first days of school. Teachers also had opportunity to participate in active learning experiences with the Superintendents and the Learning Coaches.
