Superintendent’s Office

Octobert 20, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We have now entered into the seventh week of our return to modified in-class learning. Like all school divisions, there have been many success stories and some challenges along the way.

On behalf of our schools, we would like to take this opportunity to check-in via Thought Exchange and ask for your input on how we can best support your child’s learning process in the months ahead. Your thoughts and comments will help us better understand our school communities’ needs during this pandemic and guide our efforts to provide learning support to students and their families.

NEW! For this thought exchange, we are using a beta feature that allows for the grouping of thoughts/comments into separate exchanges, such as Early Years (Gr. K-4), Middle Years (Gr. 5-8), and Senior Years (Gr. 9-12). Upon accessing the link below, you will be asked to select the exchange that represents your child’s grade level. When participants move into the Share and Star steps of the exchange, their thoughts will only be shared with other participants in their same group, and they will only see thoughts shared by participants of their own group for rating. If you would like to participate in more than one grade-level exchange, this can be done by closing your browser and revisiting the link in a new browser window. Switch to the appropriate exchange and proceed.

This exchange will be open from October 20 – 25, 2020. Visit the exchange often, as this will provide you with the opportunity to interact with new ideas that will be shared by other participants. An email containing the invitation link has been sent to all parents/guardians.

Thank you for taking the time to participate in this important conversation. A summary of the top thoughts will be shared with the Board of Trustees, HSD Parent Advisory Councils, and posted on our website.

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
