Hiring Announcements
Steinbach, MB. May 21, 2021 – Hanover School Division Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Lawney Penner, Wendell Head, and Jason Wiebe have been appointed as Vice-Principals of Steinbach Regional Secondary School (SRSS) effective September 2021.
Lawney Penner has held the position of Interim Vice-Principal at SRSS since December 2020. With this new appointment, he will transition to permanent status. Previous to his current role, Lawney served as a physical educator and classroom teacher at the SRSS from 2013-2020. His teaching experience also includes six years at Mitchell Middle School from 2007-2013.
Wendell Head is currently President of the Hanover Teachers’ Association (HTA), having served in this role for the past six years. Previous to his current position, Wendell taught at the SRSS from 2008-2015 and was a teacher and Vice-Principal in the Frontier School Division from 2000-2008. He has also held teaching positions in South Korea, Ontario, and Newfoundland.
Jason Wiebe is currently serving in the role of Learning Support Teacher (Grade 9) at the SRSS, a position he has held since 2020. His SRSS teaching experience also includes fifteen years as a social studies teacher from 2005-2020.
