Superintendent’s Office

June 30, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the 2020–21 school year comes to a close, I’d like to say a final thank you and give some initial information for September.

Planning for September
As we turn our attention to planning for the next school year, we are optimistic for a safe return of all students to in-class learning. Student and staff safety and well-being are still paramount in our planning. Public health measures in schools will continue to mirror public health protocols and restrictions within our community. Manitoba Education will continue to consult with our public health officials and provide direction on how HSD schools will open for the start of the 2021–22 school year. We expect to have further information in early to mid-August. As always, we will communicate information and plans as soon as possible. For students who are eligible for transportation, information will be sent before the school year begins. Details regarding schedules will be shared once we receive confirmation on how many students can safely ride the bus and if we must group students in cohorts, etc.

Appreciation
Parents/guardians play a critical role in their child(ren)’s education, and this year in particular, your support was paramount. Thank you to everybody for the communication between home and school, allowing teaching and learning in a safe environment for our students despite the circumstances. Together we ensured your child(ren)’s learning continued, and we want to express our gratitude for your critical role in supporting education throughout the pandemic. Thank you.

Have a Wonderful Summer!
We hope all our families, students, and staff enjoy the summer break and are able to spend quality time with family and friends. Stay safe and healthy, and have fun!

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
