Superintendent’s Update

February 13, 2022

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

As announced by Premier Heather Stefanson this past Friday, new public health orders will come into effect on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022. The complete news release and backgrounder are available for viewing on the Manitoba Government website.

Several changes in the new public health orders will impact schools, including a move from Orange (Restricted) to Yellow (Caution). The new orders will mean masks are no longer required during physical education classes effective Tuesday, Feb. 15. With the exception of physical education classes, please note that masks are still required in all other indoor spaces in schools for staff and students (no change to the existing restriction until March 15).

Superintendent teams and Manitoba Education are meeting Monday, Feb. 14, to review the new public health orders and requirements for schools. Additional details regarding the specific changes will be provided on Monday.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
