Superintendent’s Update

January 21, 2022

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Keeping our school communities safe and healthy is of utmost priority for in-person student learning. As parents/caregivers, there are two things you can do to help us in keeping our schools safe and healthy.

  1. Keep your child(ren) home if they are ill, even if symptoms are mild.
  2. Report any positive cases identified through rapid or PCR testing to your child’s school. This will allow us to monitor case activity within our schools, communicate absenteeism and cases to our communities, and work with Public Health officials.

Additional information regarding HSD communicating rates of absenteeism and cases will be provided next week.

Please continue to follow Public Health directions for self-isolating to help keep your child, other students and school staff safe. HSD has created the following flowchart as a resource for our families:

If you have additional health-related questions, please visit the provincial COVID-19 Screening Tool or call Health Links-Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or toll-free at 1-888-315-9257.

Thank you for your help in keeping our schools safe and healthy.

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
