My name is Danielle Funk and I live in Steinbach with my husband Cory and my two children Benjamin and Emma, who are both just starting in HSD. I graduated from Red River College in 2012 with a Business Administration diploma and currently works in sales. Previously I was involved with the Red River College Students’ Association as President and CEO, V.P. Academic, Chair and Board Member. I was also a Member of Red River College Board of Governors and a delegate for the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations. For the 2018/2019 school year I was Chair of the Arts for Tots Parents Committee.
Choosing to run for trustee of HSD wasn’t a difficult choice for me. I personally had struggles in school, mostly in junior high and high school and I did not finish high school in the traditional way. When I was 19, I completed my GED and then later received my Adult Education Diploma when I decided to further my education at Red River College. During my time at RRC and because of my Involvement with the Students’ Association, a passion for education grew within me. My experiences on a multitude of boards as well as the school experiences of myself and others who are close to me, I knew I could be a strong voice for students with a unique perspective. Thank you for the opportunity to serve our children and our community.
