Superintendent’s Office

October 22, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Pandemic response planning for schools has focused on the safety and health of students, staff, and families while ensuring reasonable measures are in place to minimize the risk of transmission and exposure to the virus in school settings.

As per the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer, effective Monday, Oct. 26, 2020, schools in the Winnipeg Metro Region will be operating in the Restricted Level (Orange) of the #RestartMB Pandemic Response System. Included within the metro region is the Town of Niverville and the RM of Taché.

The provincial COVID-19 Bulletin # 229 provides details of the newly announced school measures for the Winnipeg Metro Region. Parents/Guardians of students at Landmark Elementary School, Landmark Collegiate, Niverville Elementary School, Niverville Middle School, and Niverville High School will receive further email correspondence tomorrow. No other HSD schools are affected by today’s announcement.

Manitoba Education and public health officials continue to closely monitor the situation and will advise if additional measures are warranted and/or when the Pandemic Response System returns to the Caution Level (yellow).

Lastly, please remember to participate in our divisional thought exchange. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. The exchange will close at midnight on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Respectfully,

Shelley Amos, Interim Superintendent/CEO
Hanover School Division
